Climate Change: The Musical (in three parts)

Part One: The Romance

Part Two: The Ultimatum

Part Three: The Divorce

This work is based on the idea of a travel poster advertising a luxury escape from an uncomfortable truth. Posters were once the main form of advertising had the capacity to engage through the use of simple and arresting imagery in public places. They also had the ability disrupt, incite action, include humour and have had a history of being used for political purposes. This work reveals the Australian love of cruising and confronting contradiction of the devastating coral bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef and the ongoing support of fossil fuels by the Australian Government. Artists have the capacity bear witness to and document critical contemporary issues.
